MV “Princessa” Main Generator
1993 Caterpillar 3412 with approximately 9,800 hours

This is to inform you that we have been utilizing the Algae-X units and Catalyst on the 'M/V Princessa since Dec. of 1999. Subsequent to the installation of these units on our 3412 Cats our filter change intervals has increased from every 100 hrs. to every 750 hrs. With the utilization of the Algae-X and catalyst we have noted a reduction in the smoke output from both our main engines and generators, by approximately 80%. In addition, after 3 months of continuous usage of the fuel catalyst and in conjunction with the Algae-X unit our fuel consumption has decreased by 20% and the injectors and turbochargers are now showing no signs of carbon deposits. Prior to your system, service to these components was required every 4-6 months. We have not been able to put a cost savings on the engine components, but just the increase in fIlter life and fuel economy is saving us over $50,000 a year.

This engine was rebuilt in 1998 and has since then run 3860 hours. The cylinder head had to be removed to repair a damaged intake valve, the damage was caused by a failure of the automatic timing advance. The Princessa implemented ALGAE-X Fuel Conditioning Technology in August of 2000, and since then has approx. 1000 run time hours. The attached pictures demonstrate the results of using ALGAE-X treated fuel.
