I apologize for not having written this letter sooner. I guess one of the reasons is that I wanted to be sure that the Algae-X devices worked and I was as you say "warm and fuzzy" with them.

I had a 35-foot sport fisherman with my twin 370 HP Volvo diesels. I bought the boat new and enjoyed one carefree summer of "clean" operation. In the beginning of the second year I took on two full tanks of dirty, contaminated fuel (total of 400 Gals.). This fuel wreaked havoc with my boat. The engines smoked, the injectors fouled and I was changing Racors every ten to twenty hours. I used so much Biocide that I think the engines were running on algae killer rather than fuel. 

All the "experts· gave me their sage advice. It went like this:

  1. Empty the tanks, polish the fuel and return the fuel. (This would clean the fuel and replace it in sludge-contaminated tanks.)
  2. Empty the tanks and power wash them. (Not possible due to the baffles in the tanks.)
  3. Remove the tanks, cut access ports and power wash. (Sure.... we all want to cut up the cockpits of our boats!)
  4. Sell the boat.

At this point it was apparent that there was no cure on the horizon and I was frustrated, angry and willing to try anything.

I then saw an advertisement for the Algae-X devices and additives and decided (with your encouragement) to go for it. I had them installed and within t'>NO fuel fills my tanks were as clean as can be. I even stopped looking at the Racor fillers because I knew they were clean. From anger and frustration my boating returned to pleasure.

I guess the best testimonial to my faith in Algae-X is that earlier this fall 1 bought a new boat. As part of the items I had installed I of course had two Algae-X devices. Getting clean fuel in the Northeast can sometimes be a problem. The turnover of fuel is not nearly as rapid as in your area where you can boat for twelve months. With the Algae-X devices in place and routine use of the Catalyst, dirty fuel is one Jess problem I have to be concerned with.
