They really do work! Just like advertised! I thought they would, but some of my co-workers, who have studied microbiology, more recently than I have were very doubtful. We installed some Algae-X 1000's on a 53' Hatteras with twin Detroit 8-71's. This boat had a significant fuel contamination problem and the Racor 1000 fuel filters were getting plugged in as little as 50 hours of operation. We installed the Algae-X units, and after only about 20 hours of motoring the fuel and filters look as clean as when new. Both the owner and myself are extremely satisfied.
